Tara was determined to create an environment that was inviting to visitors while training competent helping professionals to provide mental health services. The belief that Tara brings to Horse and Soul Counseling is to emphasize the values and strengths of each individual being served while providing support towards healing. Tara is a devout Christian and believes in the healing power of Jesus in the counseling process. As prey animals, horses are highly attuned to their environment and the non-verbal cues of those around them. This makes them exceptional partners in therapy, as they respond to a person’s emotional state in real time—often reflecting thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be difficult to express in traditional talk therapy.
